Anonymous users can read content and search; posting, commenting, messaging, reporting, and blocking require sign-up with email, Google, or Apple.
Users can search units, cities, posts, and people, and access helper areas such as countdown, packing list, glossary, and frequently asked questions.
Reporting, user blocking, community rules, and reminders against sharing sensitive personal or military information are built into the experience.
Product Approach
The brief's main goal was to get users to the right community quickly without making the first version heavy with unnecessary social features.
Unit and cohort selection is not a required profile identity; it is used to route users to the right community area.
Anonymous users can browse content, while posting, liking, reporting, or blocking is connected to the registered user flow.
Posts from different communities can appear in one global feed, with a clear source label showing where each post was shared.
Instead of private messaging, follows, badges, polls, or advanced moderation, the product prioritizes core community, chat, and safety flows.
